This is a 14 step printable sewing tutorial that describes how to paint with acrylic paint on fabric clothing with words only, no photos. It tells you the materials you need for this project, if you want to use tracing paper and lines as guides to paint within, it tells how to to do that, and how to make the paint stay permanently on the fabric, even after washing.

Painted clothing makes a great gift for all ages. I have painted many shirts for my seven kids over the years of whatever they were into: bowling, TV characters (just trace from a coloring book onto the tracing paper for your design), cats, horses, tools, their name, etc.
